NEWS: Friends of Madagascar Mission (FOMM) has been requesting funding for hunger projects in Madagascar over the past five years. We would like our supporters to realize that whe you spread the word about FOMM's work, it is hard to catch everyone's attention, but if you share the following story, your contacts will immediately understand. ABC News recently ran a five minute story on famine in Madagascar. One of their anchors went there and saw the devastation firsthand. Interestingly it centered in Ambovombe, one of the centers where we work. As you share this, please realize that it is at this time of the year (Thanksgiving and Christmas) we especially think of giving to help others. FOMM is ready to respond to any information you may need:
The drought in Madagascar is the worst in four decades, affecting 1.5 million people and devastating isolated farming communities in the south of the country. They have killed their livestock, eaten the seeds intended to plant a new crop, and now search for edible cacti, roots, and insects to survive. We are going to come out with a plan for a prayer crusade for between Thanksgiving and Christmas We invite you to pray now though:
Father, in your mercy open the heavens and send rain on the fields of Madagascar and end this drought, and until then, open the hearts and purses of the developed world in order to feed the starving children. Make us your hands and feet to bring resources to those most in need. In your Son’s dear name we pray. Amen.

Friends of Madagascar Mission guarantees that 100% of a gift given to us will be spent on the mission project for which it is designated. Nothing will be taken out of a gift to pay for our administration costs, but we invite donors to also give gifts to our Administrative Account.
